Portland cafe offers herb crusted tofu recipe – with potatoes and mushroom Marsala

The Farm Cafe in Portland serves this tofu dish that looks nice and crunchy and fun to make.

Tofu pieces are pan fried with bread crumbs and thyme. A mushroom Marsala sauce sits in the middle of the pieces on top of garlic-and-rosemary mashed potatoes.

I haven’t made this dish but I like that The Farm Cafe uses fresh organic ingredients from the Portland area in making its food.

My wife and I have focused our efforts on Chinese tofu recipes, which of course I like. But this recipe is a good change of pace on the bean curd front.

This video also is appealing because it’s nice and simple. There are many tofu videos out there – and this one caught my eye.

You also can order the dish for $13 at The Farm Cafe.

One person commented online that the recipe involved too much soy sauce. But others said it looks appealing.

Give it a try. Or just watch the video – there are advertisements but there’s an option to turn them off if you don’t want to see them.

And enjoy the weekend.
