Simple things in life always have beauty

I’ve often said that some of the most beautiful things in life can be simple.
You know: Gardening, chasing after a ball, watching airplanes land and take off or pushing two basic bicycle-like toys on the ground.
As you might know, my son and wife arrived home safely from China recently after spending a wonderful time with my wife’s family.
I am thrilled that they are back in the Seattle area.
So, the other day, my son and I broke out the Bygga construction set, which we bought at IKEA.
It has basic shapes, plus wheels. So, you can make a motorcycle, dump truck, airplane and helicopter.
The toys appear to be so popular that there’s a flickr group devoted to them.
We decided to make push toys. The two creations that we came up with are pictured above.
So, we’ve been running around the house, chasing them after we’ve given them some energy.
I thought I’d include the photograph here to balance out some of my recent blog posts.
Those topics have fascinated me.
But they’ve been a bit on the heavy side in terms of pricey real estate, luxury yachts, super tall buildings, the sale of Hummer and a country’s place in the world.
And my former newspaper colleagues have been producing some spectacular work in recent months. Here’s a link to their sites.
One of them, Jiaying Grygiel, has posted some nice, clean photographs of what she’s seen recently.
Oh yes, I plan to post another tofu recipe in the coming week or so.
