I spent a whole year as an exchange student in Kyoto Japan, and I have to say I probably wouldnt have gotten by if it wasnt for a delicious bowl of udon a few times a week! There is even one shop where you can eat for free if you do 30 minutes of washing after! Anyway, I found a load more tasty looking ideas at this udon recipe site.

and I have a new book out called The New Polymath - linked above. It's less about individual polymaths through plenty from history and today's are referenced - but about enterprises (many case studies with examples) which are learning to put together 3,5, 10 strands of infotech, biotech, nanotech, cleantech etc to come up compound new innovations to solve problems we could not a few years ago.

Last Fall, I begged the publisher to change the title (which I had proposed) because hardly any of the audiences I presented to knew the term Polymath..they asked me to persist and today a lot more know it, as you have found...

Great post, Brad. I like the way you showed the video in three segments. Listening to the power of water cascading is very meditative. I also like to see the water coursing downward towards other areas. Glad that you and Dad had such a great time seeing the waterfall. Mom

This is an excellent article and I agree with you 100%!! I have a student in the journalism program at Fremont and she is so upset and dissappointed that it is being cancelled. We have tried to contact the school, and have even gone to the district. NO RESPONSE. I guess it is a dictatorship these days and parents, tax payers, students have no say in what goes on there. They called my daughter into the office to pick a replacement class for her senior year....CERAMICS!! Definately a life skill that she will make great use off! I am not going to let this go until I can get a response from someone as to why this is happening and how it can be changed.
