Spotted: The Wong Family Association office

posted by brad wong on 2010.06.03, under asian american history, history

I should be more specific: I spotted the Wong Family Association office in Seattle’s International District – when I had my digital camera with me.

The surname is the same as mine. I might have walked into this association once years ago. But I don’t go here regularly.

For generations of ethnic Chinese, family associations have been a place in which to gather and a way to help people from the same area of China adjust to life in the United States. As we know, the Chinese in America have done a range of interesting jobs, including ones as aviators and singers, musicians and filmmakers.
