Cookie Preferences Explained
Cookie notices are everywhere, and most of them hide a long list of partners. The one on Tofu Watch is different because there is very little to explain. This page sets out exactly what is stored, where and how to remove it.
What we store
When you answer the notice, your browser saves a single entry in its local storage. Local storage works much like a cookie, but it stays on your device and is not sent along with every page request. The entry records one thing: whether you accepted or declined. It lets the site remember your answer so the notice does not keep reappearing.
| Stored entry | Location | Why it exists | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notice answer | Local storage in your browser | Remember your choice | Until you clear site data |
What we do not use
- No tools that count or follow visitors.
- No advertising or remarketing cookies.
- No "like" or "follow" widgets pulling in scripts from outside companies.
- No embedded videos or maps that set their own cookies.
Whichever answer you give, the site works the same way. Declining does not hide any article or feature.
Changing your mind
To reset your choice, clear the stored data for tofuwatch.com in your browser. The steps vary slightly between browsers, but the option is usually found under privacy or site settings, listed as "site data" or "cookies and site data". On your next visit the notice will appear again and you can answer afresh. Private or incognito windows forget the answer when they close.
Why there is a notice at all
A site that stores nothing about you might not seem to need a notice. We show one anyway because remembering your answer is itself a small piece of storage, and you should know about it before it happens. It also gives you a clear place to say no. The notice sits out of the way of the reading area, and once you have answered it stays closed on this device.
Other websites
Our guides sometimes point to outside pages. If you follow such a link, that site may use its own cookies under its own policy. Our choice notice does not cover them.
